Yes. Every puzzle and tool on the site is free to use, and you never need to create an account. We cover running costs with advertising (Google AdSense).
Email us at [email protected] (or use the form above and choose “Clue database — incorrect answer”). Include the clue text, the answer shown, and what you think the correct answer is. We review every report and correct genuine errors.
Unfortunately not. There are no accounts, so your puzzle progress, streaks and stats are stored only in your own browser (local storage). Clearing your browsing data, using private/incognito mode, or switching to a different browser or device will start you fresh, and we have no copy on our servers to restore.
No. TheCrossword.org is a simple website with no sign-ups, no app and no leaderboards. The easiest way to play every day is to bookmark the Daily Crossword and the Mini Crossword.
No. Our daily crossword and mini are original puzzles. We don't republish puzzles from newspapers or other publishers.
We're a small team and don't run a formal submissions programme, but we're always happy to hear from constructors. Email [email protected] with a short note about yourself; please don't send full puzzles until we've replied.
